Pursuit of Excellence

We held our YW in Excellence last week. Boy, was it great to have over. The girls did a really night job. Our theme was "Pursuit of Excellence". The invitations were purses, we decorated with purses, and had purse cupcake toppers for refreshments. It was a really nice night.

This morning Laurie, Mom and I had the funnest bridal shower for my niece Cierra who is getting married on July 8. She is such a darling young woman and I am so excited for her and Riley! We had a yummy brunch with quiche, fruit, delicious cinnamon rolls (thanks Laurie) and juice. It was so nice and Cierra got some way great stuff!

Last week was one of the best weeks of my life! My niece Tatia and her husband Jake had a new baby girl, Penny Elaine (she was named after me). I was so lucky to be able to go and spend several days with them. Tatia is such a great sharer, she let me hold Penny for as long as I wanted. There is nothing better than a new baby, they make the cutest sounds and smell so good! It was so fun to be in Dallas! I love you baby Penny!

I love General Conference weekend! I always enjoy working on a project during conference. Today I made a quilf for my friend Skye! It was so fun to think of her while I sewed! Here's the finished quilt!

Today is a special day! It is three of my most favorite people's birthday!

Charlie turned 28 years old today! He is such an awesome man and such a cute dad!

Simon turned 8 years old today! I can't believe I have had him for 6 years! I am so grateful for his companionship and unconditional love! I love you Simon!

My cute friend Skye turned 7 years old today! She doesn't really have red eyes!

Tonight while Dad, Mike and Matt went to Priesthood meeting, Mom, Laurie, Krista, Hailey, Aida and I got together for some yummy dinner and crafting! It was sure fun to have them come to celebrate Simon's big day!

Check out my new room! For the past few weeks I have been working on redoing my guest room. My cute niece, Krista the interier decorator, helped with choosing the paint color and painting my headboard red. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Girls Camp Rocks - What a great week!

I came home yesterday from a wonderful week at camp! Gosh, I always dread going to camp and I can't tell you what a great week it was!

This year our stake theme was "Can you imagine". Our ward choose the Wizzard of Oz for our place. Below is the handout I gave the girls on the last night of camp. I gave a talk about how the scarecrow wanted a brain and how we too need knowlege, how the tin man wanted a heart and how we need to love and serve, and how the lion wanted courage and how we need to have courage to choose the right and how our ultimate goal like Dorothy is to return home to our Heavenly Father. I made a darling key chain with a yellow bead (our value color) a book charm a heart charm, and a lion charm to represent the scarecrow, the tin man and the lion.

I thought they all looked so cute together I had to get a picture of them in the basket. I just needed Simon in the basket, he could have been Toto!

Here are a few of my girls the afternoon we got to camp!

Instead of skits this year we did American Idol. Each ward sang a song. Below are our stake leaders, they changed the words from the song my guy to my thighs, they were hilarious. We had three judges, Randy Jackrabbit, Paula Abdrool and Simon Scowl. They were so funny and did such a great job!

My girls perfromed the "Bare Necessities" one of the lines said to forget about your iPod and your cell phone! It was so cute and they did a great job! Randy said that we were the Bomb! Paula quite liked us but Simon said we reminded him of the Bear Country show at Disneyland that was a little too long. Dang Simon!

It was such a great week! The girls and the leaders were so fun! We laughed and laughed. I loved getting to go!

Coeur d'Alene Rocks

This week for work I traveled to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. It is gorgeous here! This is the view from my hotel room! It's absolutely breath taking.

This afternoon after the meetings the guys all went golfing. I went to the spa and had a facial, it was so relaxing. After the facial I went outside and walked around the hotel.

The hotel is behind me. It's so lovely here! (Be sure and check out my clean face!)

I love red geraniums and everywhere you look here there a tons of red geraniums. I had to get a photo of them.

Robynn had Kathy P. bring Simon ballons this morning! They are so dang cute! Thanks so much Robynn and Kathy! Simon had a pretty good night. He was up from 3:00 - 5:00 this morning. He had chicken noodle soup for breakfast, has had his knees iced and is resting now.

Simon Says Ouch!

For the last few weeks Simon has been very miserable! He can hardly go up and down stairs and has had a very hard time walking. I took him to the emergency a couple of weeks ago and they told me he had a torn ligament and that he should have surgery. They gave him some anti-inflammatory pills that would help the pain and swelling. While I was in Florida last week he got worse. I came home on Thursday and took him to his regular vet. He said his knees were in very bad shape! Fortunately the Orthapedic surgeon had a cancelation for today so he went in for surgery this morning to have both the ligaments and knees repaired. He is so sad!

When I went to pick him up tonight, he wouldn't even look at me. I think he couldn't believe what I let them do to him. Here he is after we got home.

Mom and Dad came over and brought me dinner. After dinner Mom and I ran to Walmart to grab some supplies for Simon. Here's a picture of what I found when I came home. Check out these cute snoozing boys!

One Year Older

On Sunday, June 13, I turned one year older! It was a very busee Sunday and I enjoyed having dinner with Mom, Dad, Jeffrey and Jen! After dinner I invited family for birthday cake and ice cream at my house! It was so fun to have family over.

Fort Lauderdale

Cierra and I headed off to Fort Lauderdale on Thursday afternoon!

Here is Cierra while we waited for our connecting flight in Atlanta. This was before we waited for 3 hours.At approximately 2:15 a.m. we arrived at our beautiful hotel! ?It was so humid!

The Happiest Place on Earth

This weekend my friend Suzanne and I flew to Southern California. It was snowing in Salt Lake City and it was so nice to come to Sunny California. We headed to Disneyland, the happiest place on earth! Disneyland was packed, but we had a very fun day!

We loved going on It's a small world! The song is still going through my head!

I can't believe it still looks just like it did when I was a little girl! Such a fun memory!

We also rode on Pirates of the Carribean.

I also love Pirates of the Caribean! It is so fun!

We saw these beautiful birds of paradise flowers on our way dinner last night! I have never seen real ones growing.

Weekend Quilt Retreat

I have had the funnest weekend! My friend Pam and I headed to St. George on Thursday night for a weekend quilt retreat! My parents have the funnest condo where we stayed. We sewed lots, saw two new movies, and watched lots of DVD's. It was great! I have had several projects that I've wanted to get done and hooray they're done!

And finally my Valentines runner that I cut out in January. It feels so great to have these projects completed! I had such a great weekend and can't wait to go again!

Today was a very buzee day! It started off with tonz of errands! I was lucky to have my Mom come with me! She's a trooper! Below is my list of things to do today! I'm so impressed that I got all but one done!

After running errands this morning I went over to Krista's and we sewed our quilt block of the month. We had a wild time doing it but they both turned out very cute! The fabrics are awesome!
In December I was put in as the Young Women's President and I have been trying to become organized, this afternoon and tonight I put together my new binder! I am so looking forward to having everything all together! Notice it's my favorite color red! : )

I'm exhaused and am now going to call it a day!

I have been busy with Young Womens, work and life!

Last week I ordered three new movies off of Amazon! They came in the mail on Wednesday. I have had such a fun few days watching them! I've already watched the Blind Side twice! It's such a fun movie! I love it!

Friday I watched New Moon! Jacob is great but I still like Edward!

I haven't watched the Princess and the Frog yet. I need to invite one of my darling great nieces over to watch it with me.

This afternoon Mom and I got together and made her a St. Patty's day tablerunner. We rounded up a few green things and now her kitchen looks great!

After we finished the tablerunner Krista called and Mom and I met her and the girls at Target. Check out Aida's new baby! She was so excited about her. The baby came with a little front pack and Aida had to model it in the parking lot! Isn't she so cute?

Hailey was sporting her Belle costume! I liked shopping with a princess! We had a great time shopping! I love that these girls are close by.

January Sewing Day

Today was the first day of our new Mormon Handicraft Block of the Month quilt day. Krista and I signed up last month to do it. Laurie came to sew a Valentine runner while Krista and I sewed. Hailey helped us out and also watched movies while we sewed. It was such a fun day! i loved having them come and spend the day.

Hailey was exited to come and hang out with us.

I finished my last block from last years quilt today too, hooray! Now I get to get it put together.

Last night Cierra and Carissa came for a sleep over! We went out to dinner and came home and read a Christmas book and watched Miracle on 34th Street. It was such a fun night!

Today we went to Church and came home and painted our nails Christmas red. I had such a great time hanging out with these cute girls!

Two More Days!

I can't believe it is almost here! I think I have everything done and am ready!

Sunday night I got to go and see the beautiful lights at Temple Square. I haven't walked around Temple Square for years. I love, love, loved getting to go and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere that was there. I loved thinking of our Savior an his birth! What a blessing he is in my life!

Christmas Dinner with the Girls!

Only seven more days until the big day! I can't wait! Tonight I had my cute old neighbor friends for dinner! We made chicken and dumplings and it was way yummy!

Between Skye and Sunny, Simon hardly got a chance to walk on his own. Those girls think he's pretty great!

After dinner the girls opened their Christmas presents (red turtlenecks and blankets). We had such a fun time together! I so love these darling girls!

Last night we had a cousins dinner at my house! It was so great having all the newlyweds together!

Yesterday morning beautiful baby Abbie was blessed! She looked so gorgeous in her blessing dress. Look how pretty she is! She is so nice! I lucked out and got to hold her during part of Sacrament Meeting.

Yesterday afternoon my friends and old neighbors invited me over for dinner in a pumpkin. It has been our tradition for the past few years. It's a yummy rice and hamburger mixture. I love it!

My meetings went great on Monday and Tuesday! On Wednesday Cindy and I were able to go to Hollywood Studios. It used to be MGM. It was a very fun park with lots of fun things to do!

We watched several different shows, The little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast were my favorites!

Belle was absolutely beautiful! I loved seeing her and thinking of Hailey and Libbie who are dressing up as Belle for Halloween! Hailey and I went to Zurchers today and bought her and Lib a lovely tiara!

They have a toy story ride where you get to play video games. I nailed it! I didn't know how great I was at video games! Mr. Potato Head was in the waiting room, he was very cute! This was the longest line all day.

Inside the building behind the Rock'n Roller Coaster guitar was the most amazing and fast roller coaster I've ever been on, gosh it was fun! We rode it 3 times!

Not sure which roller coaster was my favorite, the Hollywood Tower Hotel ride was awesome! I didn't know if I was too old for roller coasters and I decided I wasn't! I loved them! We were able to go on this ride twice! Way fun!

Wednesday on our way back to the hotel we stopped at Bennihana for dinner! Tri was our chief, he was great! He certainly knew how to make steak, shrimp and chicken taste great! Cindy and I sat with a very nice couple from New Jersey, we had a very nice time! After dinner we headed back to the hotel to pack up our things and head back home. It was very fun to get away! It is also nice to be home!

An afternoon at Cocoa Beach

Yesterday my friend Cindy and I traveled to Orlando. I have meetings this week and we decided to make a mini vacation out of it. This afternoon we rented a car and drove to Cocoa Beach. It was about an hour east of Orlando.

It was a very beautiful day. The sky was very blue and the clouds were lovely!

I loved getting to put my feet in the sand and the water! It felt so great!

We had lots of friends at the beach!

Simon is 7 years old today, I can't believe I have had him for 5 years now! He is such a great companion and friend! I am so grateful to Jeffrey for giving me Simon!

Looks who's 16 years old and look who's 81 years old

Jake and I celebrated his 16th birthday Tuesday night, can you believe he's 16? He is about 5'11" and is such a nice kid! It was so great to get to spend time with him!

Yesterday was my dad's 81st birthday! It's hard to believe he is 81, he is such a goer! I'm so grateful for him! He's the best and will do anything in the world for me! I sure love him so much!

Gosh time flies when you're having fun! I can't believe the rest of the week went by so quickly! It was so great to get to hang out with the Plano Thiot's, the Mansfield Thiot's, the Plano Grange's and the Sacramento Thiot's! I loved every minute of my week! Here are a few photos to recap the rest of my week!

On Saturday Keelie and the teddy bears had a tea party! She is a wonderful hostess and knows how to throw a party!

Sunday was a wonderful day! I am so grateful that I was able to be at Addison's blessing! She is such a nice baby girl! I loved getting to eat dinner next to Brooklyn at her house after church! She is such a fun girl! I loved getting aquainted with her!

Monday was a fun day! We did some birthday shopping for Tatia. Look how cute Tatia looks in her new top and jeans!

After the shopping trip we ended up in the pools. We had a boy pool and a girl pool! It was a great way to finish up the afternoon.

Tuesday afternoon the Sacramento Thiot's headed for home. It was sure sad to see them go but I so loved getting to share my vacation with them! Thanks Char!

After dropping the Sacramento Thiot's off Robynn and I had some pool time. It felt so great to relax and read for a couple of hours. When Tatia got off work Robynn, Tatia and I went for a pedi. Such a fun pamper party!

Wednesday came way to fast and I packed up and headed for home!

Dallas - Day 2

This morning Robynn and I went for a quick walk around the neighborhood and then headed to Celebration Park in Allen. It was a great place with lots of water and lots of playground equipment. Tatia and her crew came with us. They are very cute little kids.

Keelie quite liked the water, she couldn't believe she was getting wet!

This afternoon was krafting with Kenzie. We made the funnest diaper holders and covered packages of baby wipes.

Dallas - Day 1

Today was my first day of vacation, hooray! Robynn, Charlie, Mackenzie, Keelie and I had a fun adventure to feed the ducks. They weren't very hungry but we had a great time feeding them. Keelie was a great trooper!

Keelie loved throwing the bread to the ducks. She's got quite an arm.

Keelie thought it was very fun to eat the ducks bread!

After the ducks were fed, Keelie went for a swing! She's quite the swinger!

Tonight Jake and Tatia came for dinner! It's so fun to see them again. After dinner everyone settled down with thier computers and ipods. Aren't we a technical group or are we just nerdy?

Monday, Monday

Well today started out with a trip to see Dr. Ghiz the orthodontist. I will be getting another new retainer this week. After 7 years my teeth are almost perfect! It's always fun to catch up with Dr. Ghiz.

After work I stopped by Costco to pick up flowers for my cute friend Rita who had a yucky test this morning and for my friend Melanie who had to put her dog Molly down last week. What a hard thing to do. It breaks my heart!

After dropping off the flowers I had the funnest dinner dates. Matt came to mow and Krista, Hailey and Aida all were at my house for a visit. We ate pizza on the patio! So fun to have them here! They are such cute girls and I love them lots and lots!

Back to School Sleepover

It's the last weekend before schools starts and I wanted to have a sleep over with my good friends Brooke and Skye. Friday night we had hot dogs, swam, had hot chocolate, read and watched Hannah Montanna. What a fun night! It was so fun to have the girls here! I kept saying how great it was to be together!

Saturday morning I got up and made Sunshine Pancakes! They were yummy!
